Acceptable Use Policy
Draft. Not yet in effect.
Why this policy exists
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It protects the businesses we host, their visitors, and the Service. If a site or account violates it, we may remove content, take a site offline, or close the account.
Content you can’t publish
- Anything illegal, or that promotes illegal activity.
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights, including photos and text you don’t have the right to use.
- False or misleading claims about your business: fake reviews or testimonials; credentials, licenses, certifications, or affiliations you don’t hold; prices or guarantees you don’t honor.
- A site for a business you don’t own or represent, or content that impersonates another business or person.
- Defamatory, harassing, threatening, or hateful content, content that incites violence, or content that targets people based on race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age.
- Sexually explicit content.
- Malware, phishing, scams, or anything designed to deceive visitors or collect their information under false pretenses.
- Other people’s private information published without their permission.
- Content designed to collect information from children under 13.
- Offers of products or services that require a license you don’t hold, or that are illegal where you offer them.
Things you can’t do with the Service
- Use it for a business you don’t represent, or claim demo sites for businesses you don’t represent.
- Use visitor messages to send spam or unwanted marketing, or in any way that violates anti-spam or telemarketing laws.
- Send bulk or automated submissions through contact forms, or interfere with other customers’ sites.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service without our written permission, or try to access accounts, sites, or information that aren’t yours.
- Copy designs, code, or stock images for use outside your BuiltFor site, reverse engineer the Service, or resell or sublicense it.
- Collect payment card numbers, health information, government ID numbers, or other sensitive personal information through your site.
- Create accounts or claim demos automatically, or open multiple accounts to extend a free trial.
- Connect a domain you don’t own or control, or one that infringes a trademark.
- Use the Service in a way that puts unreasonable load on it or disrupts it for others.
Your visitors
Your site collects messages from your visitors on your behalf. The privacy notice we publish on your site describes how that information is handled, and by publishing your site you adopt it. You’re responsible for acting consistently with it, for using visitor messages lawfully, and for honoring visitors’ requests about their information. If your business is subject to specific rules about customer information, meeting them is your responsibility.
How we enforce this policy
Our response depends on the violation. Where practical, we’ll contact you and give you a chance to fix it. For illegal content, security threats, or harm to others, we may act first. Repeated or serious violations end your account. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
Reporting
To report a site or account, email hello@justbuiltfor.com. For copyright complaints, see the Terms of Service.
