Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy describes what BuiltFor (the operator identified at the top of this page, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to:

our marketing website at justbuiltfor.com;
the BuiltFor dashboard, where customers manage their accounts and sites;
our demo and preview pages;
businesses we build demo sites for before they sign up;
the websites our customers publish with BuiltFor, to the extent we process information on the customer’s behalf.

If you’re a visitor to a customer’s website, that site’s privacy notice describes how the business handles your information. We process it as the business’s service provider.

The Service is offered to businesses in the United States, and we process information in the United States. Our hosting provider’s network may serve cached copies of published sites from other locations.

Information we collect

From customers.

Account details: your name, email address, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile image from Google.
Business details you enter: business name, contact email, phone number, address, hours, services, social links, text, and photos. Once published, they’re public on your site.
Billing: your subscription status, plan, and billing dates. Payment card details are collected by our payment processor, Stripe, not by us.
Support messages you send us.
Usage information: how you use the dashboard, such as pages viewed, features used, errors, IP address, and browser and device information.
Emails we send you and whether they were delivered.

From businesses we contact. Before contacting a business, we may build a demo site for it from publicly available information: the business’s name, address, phone number, hours, services, and reviews, from public listings and the business’s own website, plus a business email address to send the demo to. Unclaimed demos are removed after a set period. If you claim the demo, that information becomes your account’s business details. To have a demo removed or to stop hearing from us, reply to any message or email hello@justbuiltfor.com. We keep a do-not-contact list.

From visitors to customer sites.

Contact form messages: the name, email address, optional phone number, reason for contacting the business, and message the visitor enters. We forward them to the business and may keep a copy.
Visitor counts: page views and taps on the business’s phone number, with the page, the referring site, the visitor’s country and city, and device type. Instead of the visitor’s IP address, we record a temporary visitor identifier that isn’t designed to recognize a visitor across days.
Request logs kept by our hosting provider for a short time for security and troubleshooting.

Customer sites set no cookies and use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

On our own sites. Our marketing website sets no cookies. The dashboard sets a cookie to keep you signed in and collects the usage information above. Demo and preview pages set a cookie that remembers which demo or preview you’re viewing.

How we use information

To provide, operate, and secure the Service, including forwarding visitor messages to the right business.
To bill subscriptions and prevent fraud and abuse.
To support you and respond to your requests.
To understand how the dashboard is used and fix problems.
To send you emails about your account and the Service.
To contact businesses about demo sites we’ve built for them, with a way to opt out in every message.
To comply with the law and enforce our terms.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share information with vendors that perform services for us, such as hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, email delivery, analytics, customer support, and the software we run the business on, and they may use it only to provide their service to us. Two you deal with directly: our payment processor is Stripe, and if you sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in.

We also share information when the law requires it, to protect the Service or other people, and in a business transfer: if BuiltFor changes its legal entity or is acquired, information transfers to the successor under this policy.

How long we keep information

We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your site, its content and visitor messages are deleted. Visitor counts are kept for a limited period. Unclaimed demos are removed after the demo period.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit and restricted access to our systems. No method of storing or transmitting information is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects you, we’ll notify you as the law requires.

Your choices

Update your account and business details in the dashboard.
Close your account by emailing hello@justbuiltfor.com.
Ask what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing hello@justbuiltfor.com. We verify requests through the email address on your account and respond within the time the law allows. We honor these requests whether or not a particular state’s privacy law applies to us.
If you’re a visitor to a customer’s site, contact the business; its privacy notice is linked from the site.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: our dashboard analytics honor Do Not Track. We don’t sell or share personal information, and no third party collects information about your activity over time and across other websites through our sites.
Emails about your account are needed to run it and can’t be turned off while the account is open.

Minimum age requirements

BuiltFor is for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 on our own sites, or from anyone under 13 anywhere. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. We’ll notify customers of material changes before they take effect.
